BREAKING THE MOULD: Priests unlike others

The Nigerian Field Society in collaboration with the Dominican Institute invites the general public to a lecture in honour of Rev. Fr (Prof.) Joseph Kenny, OP.

This lecture marks the 85th anniversary of “The Nigerian Field,” Journal of the Nigerian Field Society.  It is to be delivered by Dr. Patricia Oyelola, Chairperson, Nigerian Field Editorial Board on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. It commences by 3.00pm at the Tom and Carolyn Walker Hall of the Dominican Institute, Ibadan.

Prof. Joseph Kenny, OP was, until his death on the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, January 28, 2013, a long-standing member of the Nigerian Field Society. Ave-Joe or Alhaji as he was fondly called was missionary in Nigeria and a foremost expert in Islamic and Arabic Studies. May the soul of Prof. Joseph Kenny continue to rest peacefully with the Lord.
